Another remarkable achievement has been accomplished by a student from the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Lunnetta Anis Prasmana, a 2024 student of the Undergraduate Program in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), won a gold medal at the International Gelora Taekwondo Indonesia Championship 2 2026, held at the Sports Hall of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta from 19 to 21 June 2026.
The international championship brought together more than 3,000 taekwondo athletes from 21 provinces across Indonesia and four other countries. With thousands of participants, the event became one of the largest taekwondo championships in the region, featuring highly competitive performances from athletes representing various regions and countries.
Competing in the Senior DAN Poomsae Taegeuk 8 Female category, Lunnetta delivered an outstanding performance before the judging panel and secured first place, earning the gold medal. Her achievement reflects dedication, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing excellence in sports while continuing her academic journey in the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program.

Lunnetta’s accomplishment also contributed to the overall success of the Universitas Gadjah Mada Taekwondo Team. A total of 14 UGM athletes participated in the championship and collectively won 12 medals, consisting of seven gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals. This achievement demonstrates UGM’s commitment to supporting students in developing their interests, talents, and achievements while strengthening the university’s reputation at both the national and international levels.
For the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Lunnetta’s success serves as a source of pride and highlights the ability of its students to excel not only academically but also in extracurricular activities. Her accomplishment is expected to inspire fellow students to continuously develop their potential, uphold the values of sportsmanship, and confidently pursue achievements in various fields according to their interests and talents.

This achievement also reflects Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to fostering a learning environment that supports character development, leadership, and holistic student achievement. Maintaining a balance between academic excellence and extracurricular accomplishments is an essential foundation for preparing graduates who are competitive, adaptive, and ready to contribute in a global context.
Lunnetta Anis Prasmana’s achievement also contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good health and well-being by promoting healthy lifestyles and sports participation, SDG 4: Quality education through the holistic development of students’ academic and non-academic potential, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals through an international sporting event that brings together athletes from different regions and countries, fostering collaboration and international engagement.
