The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period I of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. This event marked a significant milestone as a moment of appreciation and celebration for students who have successfully completed their master’s studies at UGM.

The ceremony took place in two venues. The main graduation procession of Universitas Gadjah Mada was held at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) from 07.00 to 12.00 WIB, attended by graduates from various faculties across UGM. The event then continued at the Faculty of Agriculture, held at the Hardjono Danoesastro Auditorium from 13.00 to 15.00 WIB, where diplomas and certificates were formally presented to the postgraduate graduates. read more

The PKM-PM UGM BIJAK team, led by students from the Department of Agricultural Social Economics (Sosek), serves as the primary driver in empowering PKK housewives in Dusun Kalimundu by transforming agricultural waste—corn cobs—into briquettes with optimized calorific value. Among the five team members—Anisa Eka Zakiya, Laluna Lena, and Asyifa Nur Afanie from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness program (sosek), along with Salma Salsabila from Chemical Engineering and Muhammad Wildan Mustofa from Plant Protection—three-fifths have a sosek background. Under the guidance of Mrs. Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., as the PKM supervisor, the team was able to adopt a holistic approach that integrates social, economic, and agricultural environmental aspects as the core of the program. read more

Yogyakarta – The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Laboratory of Agricultural and Agribusiness Socio-Economic Modeling, successfully organized two sessions of the Sapa Data (Data and Analysis Training Series) in August 2025. This initiative aims to enrich public knowledge in data analysis, particularly in the field of agricultural and agribusiness socio-economic modeling. Sapa Data 3 was held on Friday, August 15, 2025, followed by Sapa Data 4 on Friday, August 22, 2025. Intan Nur Khasanah, a student from the Agricultural Extension and Communication Program, Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has completed a 50-day Community Service Program (KKN) in Karanggondang Village, Mlonggo Sub-District, Jepara Regency, Central Java. Together with her team, Intan implemented various initiatives under the theme “Optimizing Coastal Area Potential through Technology Integration, Economic Empowerment, and Environmental Sustainability for Community Welfare.” These activities not only delivered tangible benefits to the local community but also aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). read more

Lalita Amaranggana Priyahita, a student from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Department, Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), recently completed her Community Service Program (KKN) in Bungintimbe Village, Petasia Timur Sub-District, North Morowali Regency, from July 25 to August 3, 2025. Under the theme “Optimizing Environmental Management, Disaster Resilience, and Sustainable Tourism Development through Community Empowerment,” Lalita and her team implemented key programs, including the Green School Movement, Disaster-Ready School Initiative, and Village Food Security Program. These initiatives were carried out in collaboration with strategic partners such as PT Stardust Estate Investment, PT Agro Nusa Abadi, the North Morowali BPBD, and the North Morowali Local Government. read more
