
Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a Farewell Symposium to honor the remarkable career and dedication of Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri. The event took place at the Hardjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 1ft February 2025. This event was attended by the faculty’s leadership, representatives from various departments, and study programs, including the Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA), Master of Agricultural Economics (MEP), Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), and Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP).
The event began with speeches from representatives of the faculty, departments, and colleagues of Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri, followed by a video presentation featuring messages and impressions from his peers. In a heartwarming moment, Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri also shared reflections on his life and career journey, inspiring the attendees with his values of dedication, integrity, and commitment to service.
As one of the professors at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri has achieved numerous outstanding accomplishments, including being recognized as a National Outstanding Lecturer and actively contributing to community service in Indonesia. His remarkable legacy also reflects UGM’s tangible contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
In addition to sharing stories, the event included group photo sessions and the presentation of mementos from various parties within the Faculty of Agriculture UGM as a token of appreciation for Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri’s dedication. The entire program ran smoothly, filled with warmth and a strong sense of togetherness.
This Farewell Symposium was not only a moment to honor Prof. Dr. Ir. Masyhuri but also an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of service and contribution to society. Through this event, the Faculty of Agriculture UGM reaffirms its commitment to inspiring future generations to continue the legacy of their predecessors in advancing sustainable agriculture in Indonesia.
