From May to July 2023, Sookmyung Women’s University Korea and Gadjah Mada University will hold a training program to improve women’s leadership and entrepreneurial abilities in the era of globalization. In the program entitled “Sookmyung 2023 UNESCO-UNITWIN Digital & Leadership Local Training,” there were two students from the UGM Department of Socio-economics who succeeded in getting the title of the best participant and were selected to take part in hackathon activities in South Korea in November 2023. They are Beny Nabila Happy Fauziah, an Agricultural Extension and Communication student class of 2021, and Regina Claudia Setiawan, a student of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness class of 2022.

From 30 August to 1 September 2023, the Department of Agricultural Socio-economics, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), again held a Curriculum Development Workshop for three days. This activity aims to improve the quality of academic services and teaching and learning activities within the UGM Department of Social Sciences.
Starting the Workshop with Enthusiasm
The first day of the workshop was the start of a series of ambitious activities. The event was officially opened by the UGM Department of Agricultural Socio-economics Chair, Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec.. The agenda continued with socialization about SIMSEPA, a platform specifically designed to support all aspects of academic activities, both for lecturers and students. With SIMSEPA, it is hoped that educational administration and management processes can run more efficiently, allowing greater focus on the teaching and learning process.
