The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics (Sosek), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, welcomed a visit from Universitas Trunojoyo on Friday morning, October 17, 2025. The visit was part of a benchmarking activity focusing on quality assurance systems, particularly within two study programs under the Department—Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) and Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP).
The benchmarking session took place in the Seminar Room of the Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) Program, Sosek Building, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. The visiting delegation of seven representatives from Universitas Trunojoyo was warmly received by the Department’s leadership, including the Head of Department Prof. Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec., Secretary of Department Ratih Ineke Wati, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D., Head of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program Ir. Any Suryantini, M.M., Ph.D., Head of the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program Dr. Dyah Woro Untari, S.P., M.P., and Quality Assurance Unit representative Gilang Wirakusuma, S.P., M.Sc.
In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo expressed his appreciation for Universitas Trunojoyo’s initiative in selecting the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics UGM as a reference for implementing academic quality assurance systems. He emphasized that benchmarking activities serve as valuable opportunities for mutual learning and for strengthening quality management practices in higher agricultural education.
During the discussion session, both institutions shared experiences and insights regarding internal evaluation mechanisms, quality assurance systems, and strategies for enhancing academic services and learning quality. The exchange of ideas was mutually enriching and aimed at continuous improvement for both sides.
The event proceeded smoothly in a warm and collegial atmosphere. To conclude the visit, both institutions exchanged souvenirs as tokens of appreciation and goodwill, symbolizing the academic partnership established through this engagement.
This benchmarking activity reflects the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics UGM’s commitment to continuously strengthen its quality culture and foster collaboration among universities. Moreover, it aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
