On June 2, 2025, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program of the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics (Sosek), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully held the Entrepreneurship Expo 2025. This event was the culmination of the Entrepreneurship course taken by students this semester, serving as a platform for them to bring their business ideas—developed since the beginning of the practicum—into reality.
The expo featured a wide variety of student-run stalls offering food and beverages to campus visitors. The event attracted an enthusiastic crowd, with many visitors coming to support and enjoy the students’ products. The diversity of offerings and the engaging atmosphere added to the expo’s lively and festive spirit. In addition to selling their products, students also had to present their business ideas in front of visitors and lecturers, explaining the concepts, strategies, and innovations behind their products.
At the end of the event, an awarding session was held to appreciate the hard work and creativity of the participants. Two awards were given: one for the “Visitor’s Favorite” team and one for the team with the highest score from the lecturers’ assessment.
Entrepreneurship Expo 2025 was more than just a class project—it was an opportunity for students to apply theory into practice, develop innovation, teamwork, communication skills, and experience the real-world challenges of starting a business. Furthermore, this event contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting experiential and applied learning. It also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and job creation. Lastly, it connects with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the promotion of student-driven innovation and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Through collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning, Entrepreneurship Expo 2025 demonstrated that higher education plays a vital role in nurturing not only academic excellence but also the entrepreneurial spirit needed to face future challenges.
