Yogyakarta, October 20, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics (Sosek), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully held a release ceremony for prospective postgraduate graduates for Period I (October) of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The event, which took place on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 09:00 WIB until completion in the North Wing MMA Classroom, served as a valuable moment to celebrate the academic achievements of the master’s students. In a warm atmosphere, the ceremony was attended by the prospective graduates, department management, and supporting staff, marking the end of their studies in agricultural economics and agribusiness management.

The event agenda began with the calling of prospective graduates, followed by a welcome address from the department management expressing appreciation for the students’ dedication and accomplishments. Next, the representative speech from the prospective graduates was delivered by Dea Monica Efendi (NIM: 23/525484/PPN/05083), a student in the Master of Agricultural Economics (MEP) program with a perfect GPA of 4.00, a study duration of 1 year, 11 months, and 16 days, Cum Laude predicate, and a total of 39 credits. The ceremony continued with the presentation of souvenirs as a symbol of recognition, congratulations and handshakes from the department management and all Sosek Department staff, and concluded with a documentation and group photo session to capture the moment.

The event featured 22 prospective graduates from the Master of Agricultural Economics (MEP) and Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) programs, all demonstrating outstanding academic performance with an average GPA above 3.76 and predominantly Cum Laude predicates.

This release ceremony not only served as a celebration of individual achievements but also reflected the Sosek Department’s commitment to supporting sustainable development through higher education in agriculture. The event aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Number 4 on Quality Education, as it focuses on enhancing access to and the quality of postgraduate education that produces competent graduates in the agricultural sector. Additionally, it contributes to SDG Number 2 on Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture, as the graduates are expected to apply their knowledge in agricultural socio-economics to address issues of hunger and efficient food production. Finally, the activity supports SDG Number 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, by equipping graduates ready to contribute to inclusive and sustainable agribusiness-based economic development.

The UGM Sosek Department extends congratulations to all prospective graduates and hopes they will continue to contribute to the nation’s progress. For further information on postgraduate programs, please visit the official website of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture.
