
The Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics (Sosek), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), took part in the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period IV of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. This event marked an official and ceremonial recognition of academic achievement for master’s students who have successfully completed their studies.
The graduation ceremony was conducted in two sessions. The first session took place at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM starting at 07:00 WIB, attended by all postgraduate graduates from various faculties within UGM. The solemn atmosphere reflected the institution’s appreciation for its finest graduates. The second session was held at the Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, in a more intimate and familial setting. This internal session brought together graduates, faculty members, administrative staff, and their families in a heartwarming and memorable moment.
A total of 12 postgraduate students from the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics officially took part in this graduation period. These students came from two master’s programs: the Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) and the Master of Agricultural Economics (MEP). Among them, 10 graduates earned the distinction of cum laude, while the other two graduated with very satisfactory honors—demonstrating strong academic commitment and dedication.
A particularly outstanding achievement came from Herina Azizah Thawafia, M.Sc., a student from the department’s fast-track program who earned a perfect GPA of 4.00 and was named the best graduate of the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics. Her success stands as a testament to the potential of accelerated programs when combined with discipline and effective time management.
