Yogyakarta, February 26, 2025 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again held the Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period II of the 2024/2025 Academic Year on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The graduation procession began at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM, where the official ceremony took place, before graduates continued the series of events at their respective faculties.

The Faculty of Agriculture UGM held a Post-Graduation Ceremony for its graduates at the Professor Hardjono Danoesastro Auditorium from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM WIB. This event marked an important milestone in the academic journey of the graduates who have completed their studies.

The Post-Graduation Ceremony was opened with a speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, who expressed appreciation and delivered an inspiring message to the graduates. Speeches were also given by a student representative and a representative of the students’ parents/guardians as an expression of pride and hope for the future of the graduates.

One of the highlights of this event was the awarding of the Best Graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM and the best graduates from each department within the Faculty of Agriculture. This award was given as a form of appreciation for the dedication and academic achievements accomplished during their studies.

In this period, the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, graduated five students. The best graduate from this department was Ari Susanti, S.P., from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, UGM, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.90 and a study duration of 4 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

The event concluded with a group photo session for each department, capturing the moment of togetherness and the remarkable achievements of the graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. With the completion of this series of events, it is hoped that the graduates can apply the knowledge they have acquired and contribute positively to society and the professional world.

The education undertaken by graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM aligns with the efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Graduates’ contributions to sustainable agriculture are expected to support SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by enhancing food security and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through the development of innovative agribusinesses. Additionally, the knowledge acquired during their studies can play a role in supporting SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through more environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
