On November 12-13, 2024, the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, successfully held the SIMSEPA (Agricultural Socio-Economics Management Information System) Socialization. This event marked a strategic step toward achieving a more efficient, modern, and structured administrative management system to support academic and operational needs within the department.

The socialization was divided into two main sessions. On November 12, 2024, the event was conducted offline at the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics Building, targeting faculty members and administrative staff. Meanwhile, on November 13, 2024, the session for students was held online, allowing broader participation.

Guided by expert speakers, including Dr. Hani Perwita Sari, S.P., M.Sc., Dr. Najmu Tsaqib Akhda, S.P., M.A., and Muh Amat Natsir, S.P., M.Sc., participants were introduced to the key features and benefits of SIMSEPA. This platform is designed to streamline and accelerate administrative processes, from online room reservations to managing student records for academic needs such as fieldwork, research seminars, and thesis examinations.

In addition to theoretical explanations, participants were also given the opportunity for hands-on practice using the SIMSEPA platform. This approach enabled faculty members, administrative staff, and students to become more familiar with the platform’s functionalities. The discussions were highly interactive, with enthusiastic participants actively asking questions and sharing their perspectives.

This initiative stems from the department’s commitment to improving the quality of academic and administrative services. With SIMSEPA, administrative processes become more efficient, accessible, and well-organized, supporting the department’s digital transformation efforts. Moreover, this effort aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing a professional administrative system to enhance education management.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the adoption of innovative technology for data and service management.
SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by fostering transparent and structured governance.

With the successful completion of this socialization event, SIMSEPA is expected to become a comprehensive solution for enhancing service effectiveness, creating a more productive academic environment, and supporting educational activities in the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM.
