On October 23 and 24, 2024, the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics (Sosek), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a series of ceremonies to honor its graduating postgraduate students. This event comprised a farewell ceremony organized by the Department on October 23 and an official graduation ceremony conducted by UGM on October 24. This moment marked an invaluable milestone for the graduates from the Master’s Programs in Agricultural Economics (MEP) and Agribusiness Management (MMA).
The farewell ceremony took place at the Sosek Department Building in an atmosphere filled with warmth and joy. During the event, the Head of the Department, Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec., shared insightful advice and guidance with the graduates, encouraging them to face future challenges and apply the knowledge they had acquired. The graduates also expressed deep gratitude to the faculty members who had supported and guided them throughout their studies.
The following day, the official graduation ceremony was held at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) and the Hardjono Danoesastro Auditorium at the Faculty of Agriculture. This event, attended by UGM’s entire cohort of postgraduate graduates, symbolized the formal completion of their academic journey. From the Sosek Department, 34 graduates were present, including 11 from the MEP Program and 23 from the MMA Program. The department’s top graduate, Adhisty Puri Damayanti, S.P., M.Sc., from the MEP Program, achieved an outstanding GPA of 3.98, inspiring her peers and the academic community.
This graduation ceremony aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

The farewell and graduation ceremonies ended on a heartfelt and joyful note, as graduates left with a renewed spirit to contribute their knowledge and experience to the advancement of society and the world.
