Yogyakarta, 27 June 2024 The Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics (Sosek Agriculture) at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) received a visit from the Agribusiness Study Program of Musamus University, Merauke, on June 26–27, 2024. This visit aims to increase the capacity and quality of preparing department accreditation documents for Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, Musamus University, which currently has superior status (BAN PT) towards ASIIN (International).
The Musamus University delegation, consisting of Dr. Ineke Nursih Widyantari, S.Pd., M.Sc. (Chair of the Agribusiness Department, Musamus University) and Abdul Rizal, S.Pt., M.P. (Secretary of the Agribusiness Department, Musamus University), was warmly welcomed by Dr. Ir. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM.
During the two-day visit, the Musamus University delegation took part in various informative and useful activities, including:
- Introduction to the organizational structure of the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics
- Introduction to the programs and activities of the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, starting with research, community service, and quality assurance
- Explanation related to ASIIN and tips and tricks for getting international accreditation
- Explanation regarding student affairs, alumni, and collaboration
This visit ended with an open discussion session where both parties could exchange ideas and experiences related to the international accreditation process.
“We are very happy to receive a visit from the Musamus University Agribusiness Study Program,” said Dr. Ir. Subejo. “We hope that this visit can provide benefits for both parties in improving the quality of education and the accreditation of study programs.”
Dr. Ineke Nursih Widyantari, S.Pd., M.Si., Chair of the Agribusiness Department at Musamus University, also expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from the UGM Agricultural Socioeconomic Department. “This visit was very useful for us in gaining information and insight related to the preparation of ASIIN accreditation documents,” he said.
The visit of the Musamus University Agribusiness Study Program to the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics at UGM is a concrete manifestation of the commitment of both parties to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia. It is hoped that through collaboration and sharing knowledge, these two study programs can achieve international accreditation and produce quality and competitive graduates. This activity also really supports the big global agenda in realizing the fourth sustainable development program, namely improving the quality of education.
