Release of Prospective Graduates for the May 2024 Period

On Friday, May 17, 2024, the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University held a Judicial Ceremony for the Release of Graduates and Graduates in Room 203, MMA, Sosek Building A10. The event began with an opening, then continued with remarks from the UGM Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics Chair, Mr. Dr. Tall Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec. In his speech, Mr. Jangkung advised the graduates always to uphold the good name of the alma mater, Gadjah Mada University, and to be individuals who are beneficial to the surrounding environment, according to the UGM motto, “Locally Rooted, Globally Respected.” He emphasized the importance of graduates remaining rooted in solid local values while striving to achieve global recognition through honest and positive societal contributions.

Next, the event continued with a speech from the best Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics UGM Period III 2024 graduate, Sister Sania Sita Devi. Sania won the Best Graduate at Faculty Level with the highest GPA, namely 3.95. In her speech, Sania expressed her gratitude to the lecturers who had guided her and her colleagues who always supported her. He hopes that the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics graduates can continue to be successful in pursuing their respective dreams.

This judicial activity is closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in improving the quality of education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. By producing competent and ready graduates to contribute to the agricultural sector, this event supports the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality of Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Prospective graduates are conveyed great hopes. Hopefully, prospective graduates can apply the knowledge they have gained while studying at Gadjah Mada University and become agents of change who can positively impact the wider community. May success accompany their steps in pursuing their dreams and contributing to sustainable and inclusive agricultural development. Congratulations and success always, graduates and graduate students!
