The Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), is thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of Havidah Tria Yunita, a student of the 2021 Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program. Tria’s recent appointment as the 2024 Yogyakarta Special Region Friendship Ambassador is a testament to her unwavering passion for exploring and promoting Yogyakarta’s rich cultural heritage. Her dedication and enthusiasm are truly inspiring.
The selection of Yogyakarta Cultural Ambassadors is a forum for young people who care about preserving Yogyakarta culture and tourism to play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the region’s specialties. This activity is part of a series of activities organized by the Indonesian Cultural Ambassadors Association, which carries a mission to introduce the cultural richness of each region in Indonesia to the national level.
Tria began her journey toward the title of Yogyakarta Friendship Ambassador at the beginning of this year when she registered to be one of the participants. Tria managed to pass to the final stage through a series of strict selections, including written tests, interviews, FGDs, talent shows, and selection quizzes. The quarantine implemented during April allowed Tria and other participants to receive training and deepen their understanding of Yogyakarta culture.
As the newly appointed Yogyakarta Friendship Ambassador, Tria is poised to become a catalyst for change and a beacon of inspiration for the younger generation. Her innovative work programs and commitment to her role are a testament to the significance of this position. Tria acknowledges that her achievements are a result of the collective support she has received, which has fueled her enthusiasm and confidence in the 2024 Yogyakarta Cultural Ambassador selection event.
The UGM Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics expresses high appreciation for Tria’s dedication and achievements and hopes that this achievement can inspire other students to continue to excel and contribute to society and the nation. Of course, this is a brilliant start for Tria in her journey of service and self-development as an agent of positive change for Yogyakarta and Indonesia. The UGM Agricultural Socioeconomic Department and the entire academic community of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture stand behind it with full support in its mission to preserve and promote Yogyakarta culture.
